Oh how I love nothing more than making my clients money; so when they came to me for help I knew exactly what we needed to do.
When they purchased the unit for $585k in 2017 they didn’t exactly know they would be relocating the next year to BC. Lucky for us we decided to renovate the home as soon as they got possession and when the time came for them to relocate.. so was the home to another buyer’s hands.
I knew that this space had potential for equity appreciation if everything was elevated up a notch. The renovation cost $29,000 in total and added a whopping $82,000 in value.
We decided to renovate all of the aesthetically unattractive areas like the dated kitchen, the bathrooms, the lighting and by adding small details that would impress the pickiest of buyers.
When we replaced the kitchen with modern cabinets, butchers block counters, modern lighting, pot lights, hardwood flooring and new vanities/tiles we ended up with with a mid-century modern masterpiece that was now worth $82,000 more than when we started (not including market appreciation).
The renovation took 1.5 months to finish as the changes were purely aesthetic and I helped contract the vendors involved in this project. Check out the before and after photos of the space below! I’ve also listed the suppliers and installers who took part in this transformation (where applicable).
