This weekend is Valentine’s Day! Excuse me if I am less than enthused. If you are single like I am this year, there are still plenty of things to do that don’t involve staring into you SO’s eyes across a dimly lit table. Here’s a few anti-Valentine’s Day events taking place across the city that are worth going to.
The Steady at Bloor and Dufferin is hosting a Dark Love pre-fix dinner. For $55 you get a 3 course meal including dessert. They will also have live music and tarot card readings to see what your future in love holds. Check out the menu here.
If you’re feeling depressed (or maybe enraged) that you’re single this year, head over to Battlesports and get some frustration out. They are hosting an Anti-Valentine’s Day Mixer. Try your hand at archery and shoot at some cupid targets, or smash some stuff in the Anger Room. Tickets are $20 at the door, and drown your sorrows with $3 shots and $4 beer.
If you want to do something low key, on Saturday, grab your single BFF’s and head over to Rainbow Cinemas Market Square. What better way to spend the day than watching 2 iconic women escape the law and a man, by watching Thelma and Louise? The screening starts at 11:15(ish).
The Opera House is hosting an erotic Anti-Valentine’s Day ball. Expect erotic visuals, bondage demos, body painting and dungeon play areas. Interesting.
Maison Mercer is also having one of Toronto’s biggest and sexiest Anti-Valentine’s Day parties. Every year, over 400 singles gather to drink and dance the night away. They give out all kinds of prizes, including some trips. Who knows, you might someone special!
