The Vibe
Founded by UK Ex-Pat and landscape Painter Marmaduke Matthews emerged Wychwood Park, named after a forest near his beloved hometown of Oxfordshire, England. While Matthews dreamed of establishing and artists’ colony, he couldn’t have known that the beautiful area would become so much more over a century later! Now a gated close-knit community with under 100 homes, Wychwood park offers buyers uniquely shaped lots, mature tree lines, a community park and tennis courts.
The Homes
The neighbourhood is nestled east of Bathurst between St. Clair and Davenport and boasts a number of Arts and Crafts style homes with prices listed well over a million dollars. Interestingly enough, the neighbourhood was amalgamated into the city of Toronto in the early 1900’s but residents continue to pay for streets and additional amenities, all managed by a local executive council.

Who Lives Here?
Notable Canadian resident Marshall McLuhan the media and communication theorist who coined the term ‘global village’ was quite happy to make Wychwood park his local village for a time!
