#isuckat that

Ok, so I’m requesting a new social media movement ( from the people I know and who like to share ).

The truth is that I work very hard in life: I read the right books, I put all of my spare time to good use, I learn new skills, I help whenever I can and consider myself a true high performer.

Here’s the thing; I really suck at a lot of things…

In a world of “I can do everything” we fail to show or speak about the things we cannot do well..and on social media we completely ignore them.

Now there’s a laundry list of things I suck at…matching socks, remembering to lock the car doors, leaving half-finished water bottles everywhere, following the rules at all cost, etc… but they all lead to the same character flaw… I’m careless.

I’ve regularly been referred to as a “Tornado”  – I come in a room like a gust of wind, I distract you, I mess up your train of thought and your workspace and then just like that… I’m gone.

I lack the patience to take the time to be organized and so I shove things in cupboards and car consoles to make everything looks good on the surface.

Now I don’t want my clients to think I’m not organized at work… I’m absolutely dedicated to making sure your deals are correct, BUT Just before I picked you up for our showings I threw a heap of garbage and clothing into a bag and I can guarantee it’s still in my trunk ( along with a blow-up bed that I really need to find a place for)

I’m a dreamer and a doer, I lack the planning skills associated with having an organized careful life..it leads me to adventure and creativity, It allows me to be charismatic – but I cannot for the life of me NOT STRANGLE THE TOOTHPASTE.

I do not own band-aids, hair elastics, zip lock baggies or an umbrella… I can’t remember to buy the items required for a smooth-sailing life and honestly, I don’t care if I get caught in the rain.

Here’s the thing – we weren’t born to be perfect, we NEED to suck at something – and so even though my mother says I should absolutely NOT – Today I’ve decided to embrace my “carelessness”

What I’m asking of you is to embrace the thing you really suck at.. going to the gym? cooking? keeping in touch with people?

What are you perpetually bad at? What do you think you’ll always be trying to improve but you already kind of know it’s always going to suck?  EMBRACE it – It’s what makes you you.

Tonight, be proud of burning dinner, be ok with the fact that you did not get around to working out ( you never do on the weekends anyway, don’t lie)

By doing an #isuckat post it will help those in your circle feel better about their own shortcomings; It’ll make us all more relatable.

Remember, you’re allowed to suck at something…as long as it’s not loving yourself.
