One of the most interesting Toronto neighbourhoods is that of Swansea, a neighbourhood complete with its own town hall! The community is bordered by Bloor Street to the north, and the incredible natural boundaries of the Humber River on the west, High Park on the east, and Lake Ontario to the south.

The beautiful neighbourhood is primarily residential and offers buyers a collection of housing options including bungalows, semi-detached, and detached lodgings built principally between 1905 and 1935. Newer townhomes and condos have taken over the area of Swansea Works since 2000 making more affordable housing options available to families sizes of all kinds. The average price tag on a home in the area runs just under $600,000, and high end homes located on High Park overlooking Grenadier Pond and Brule Gardens can run upwards of a million—but with all the natural wonders—are worth every penny!

Parents have Swansea Junior and Senior Public school directly in the neighbourhood, with the option of extended French for those looking to build on bilingual skills, and have additional public and catholic options surrounding the Swansea borders.
What's There To Do?
Families of all ages can take advantage of the stunning greenspaces including High Park, Rennie Park, and of course the Humber River and Lake Ontario. High Park offers gardens, playgrounds, a trackless train, picnic grounds, animals, a dining facility, a historic museum, an outdoor theatre, and fishing pond all for community use! Rennie Park, off Rennie Terrace, is complete with four tennis courts, a wading pool, and ice rink! The Swansea Town Hall and Community Centre offers gym and meet room facilities, along with a library branch with programs from small children to seniors.
The most accessible shopping and dining options for locals of Swansea is that of Bloor West Village. Residents will find the best in fine fruits and vegetables, gourmet meats and cheeses, and baked breads and desserts from a number of different cultures.
What About Commuting?
Commuters in Swansea can make use of the bus routes along Windermere and Morningside, or walk to the Runnymede or Jane station for access to the Bloor-Danforth subway line. The most convenient routes for motorists in and out of the city are the Gardiner and Lakeshore which are just minutes away!
