Davenport

The Vibe

Located between Lansdowne and Bathurst, just north of Christine Pitts comes the quiet and convenient Toronto neighbourhood known as Davenport. Its central location and easy access to public transit makes this neighbourhood a desirable one for both young professionals and families alike.

The Homes

The area requires an investment of just over $650,000 to secure one of the beautiful Victorian homes built in the early 1900’s with other more affordable properties being offered in the style of semis, low and medium rise buildings, along with brick and wooden townhomes located along Christie and Shaw.

Who Lives Here?

Families will take solace in the schools, parks, libraries, and recreation facilities in the area including Wallace Emerson Community Centre featuring an indoor pool, gym, tennis courts, and ice rink. Hillcrest Park offers a wonderful greenspace complete with tennis courts, playground, wading pool, and beautiful views of the city skyline.

What's There To Do?

It’s interesting to note the rich history of Davenport Road which once served as a trail used by Canada’s own First Nations People while travelling between the Humber and Don Rivers. Later it became the transit line for the Northern Railway and home of Davenport Station, which caused a small village to develop it and later become annexed into the city of Toronto as the neighbourhood that stands there today.

Some of the current landmarks feature the Tollkeeper’s Cottage (c. 1830) and the Hillcrest TTC yard.

Limited shopping is available with convenience stores through the neighbourhood, a grocer at Christie and Dupont, and the Galleria Mall at Dufferin and Dupont.

What About Commuting?

Motorists are a short drive away from the Allen and other major expressways, while commuters can travel along Davenport or Dupont to the Dupont station or Christie to the St Clair West station connecting passengers to the Yonge-University-Spadina line or travel along Bathurst or Spadina to the Bloor-Danforth line.
